After 5 weeks of travel its always great to get back home!
However, one of the first things I noticed was how still and flat the chi had become
during my time away. Normally, it sparkles and flows with abundance and ease, animating
everything in and around my home. I thought this new stillness odd, given that my pets had
all remained home, the gardens were still alive, structurally nothing had changed, and my
house sitters had been wonderful and attentive in my absence.
After contemplation and reflection, Ive finally attributed this phenomenon to three
Feng Shui-related things. Houstons incredible summer heat was, in part, responsible
for an inward turn of energy. When things become extremely yang (expansive, hot, intense),
natures response is to turn toward yin (contraction, cool, still). This balancing
occurs naturally and automatically, without any help from us. Yet this was only a minor
portion of what was underlying the stillness I encountered.
Before leaving I had unplugged all of my water fountains so there would be one less thing
for my house sitters to care for. As the fountains need to be filled with some regularity,
I figured it would be bad Feng Shui to have the pumps burn up. I had
also turned off my CD player. I have sacred Sanskrit chants playing 24 hours a day when
Im home. Even if the sound is turned off, the vibrations of the chants move through
my home continuously. I also meditate and offer incense daily.
Although it took me a day to reestablish these things, I was absolutely amazed to discover
that in less than 24 hours energy was again flowing and sparkling abundantly. The
butterflies were back, the flowers were blooming, birdsong resounded all around, and
overall, vibrancy had been restored.
I knew that the mechanical component of chi activation was important, and that was clearly
reestablished with the fountains being turned back on. The other, more subtle ingredient
here, though, was re-engaging the energy of love. It was with the first prayer, the first
offerings made at the pujas, both indoors and outside, that the sleeping chi awakened.
The third thing I discovered was that my home was preparing itself for the changes I was
getting ready to make upon my return. Classical Compass School Feng Shui, which is what I
just finished studying in Malibu, offers a number of techniques that are decidedly
new and different for me. As I would learn and explore them in class during the day, I
would apply them, long distance, using floor-plans, to my home during evening studies.
Finally, after studying, I would go to sleep, and in dreamtime, I would Compass School
Feng Shui my home. As we all know, energy follows intention, and so an entirely new
grid-work of subtle energy meridians was being established. By the time I returned, my
home had been rewired so to speak, and was simply and quietly waiting for me to make the
actual physical changes and adjustments.
Actually, its been really exciting formulating ways in which to combine these
different schools. Ive had great success joining them, even dreaming twice that I
was in the middle of a beautiful and powerful wedding ceremony, marrying an
extraordinarily beautiful Chinese man. My dreams have always been pre-cognitive and as
real as this waking dimension, so I know my decisions to join these systems
together is exactly what I need to do. And I love being able to combine astrology with
Feng Shui. I am currently intrigued with the Flying Star chart, which is the
astrology chart of the building itself! It indicates the fate or destiny of anyone who
resides in the space, what anyone will encounter living in that building, and its
drawn up according to the date the building was born or built.
I LOVE the mystical arts! They provide the most wonderful opportunity to continue to grow
and explore. After 11 years of Feng Shui study and application, another door opens, and a
whole new vista appears. What a terrific journey!
And so, until next month, many blessings and much happiness. To participate in the Feng
