I’m Special

Another presenter at this year’s Whole Life Expo in Austin will be Sandra Lane. She has created a Songbook titled I’m Special. This delightful book is geared for children Kindergarten through 6th grade. The songbook includes words for 10 original songs and 2 traditional songs that teach Self Esteem, Self Confidence, Saying No, Service to Community, Appreciation of Parents, Love of Pets, Focusing on the Positive and more. Also included are discussion questions and an Activity Guide for each song. Sandra Lane has also recorded the songs on a cassette which can be used in conjunction with the songbook. Below is an excerpt of the section titled "I’m Special" and which teaches Self-Esteem.

I’ve got red hair and freckles on my nose,

I’ve got blue eyes and a wart on my toe,

I’m not too tall, I still have room to grow,

I’m different, and I want the world to know.

I like baseball and eating birthday cake,

I like spinach with catsup on my plate,

My room is neat, but it seems I’m always late,
