What’s Up for 2000?
Like a natal birth chart, (a freeze-frame of potential based on the planetary positions), the global chart for Midnight January 1, 2000, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is a potent tool for understanding the challenges and possibilities, both personal and collective, for the coming 1000 years.
With Capricorn Sun conjunct Juno, (Goddess of relationship) located in the 4th House, the millennium chart points to the growing form of the feminine aspects in our culture. Here we see men and women giving increased value to receptive, nurturing and empowering activity; a merging of the masculine and feminine.
Further emphasized by the Third Quarter Moon Phase of the chart, the years ahead mark a time of balance and growth of the inner self versus a focus on outer world accomplishment. We may bear witness to a time of healing, artistic realization and creativity: an unprecedented expression of the inner self. As Capricorn Sun rules the Leo North Node of the Moon in its own natal 10th House, we see light and love brightening family, public and professional endeavors while cultivating a new reverence for the feminine image of success. Hopefully, we’ll accomplish this in a way that honors our past while inventing new futures.
The new Century and the Millennium begin with Libra rising, emphasizing refinement, partnership, cooperation and the balancing of emotions and intellect, male and female, yin and yang. Naturally, we can expect to lose our Libra balance many times over. Our return to center will bring many opportunities to stretch and to master. Libra Ceres in the 12th House assures this is a collective call for harmony, giving meaning to the term “unconditional love.” With this position of Ceres we nurture through devotion and dedication to the human family.
Noted in the chart are many exciting Black Hole contacts affirming the potential genius, depth, and originality of our future accomplishments. The Black Holes are precise locations in our universe. They are points of light, genius and paradox. Naturally, they are altogether fascinating. Since we all have 10 planets, many more asteroids and other significant points, their influence is realized by many but known by few. Chances are, if you are drawn to read this article, you have some important Black Hole connections coloring and deepening your perceptions. Scorpio Moon, precisely conjuncts Black Hole, CENTAURUS A at 6 Scorpio 56, further enhancing the healing feminine and our need for purification.
Mercury at 1o Capricorn in hovering Black Hole, SGR X-4 reminds us to lighten up, laugh more often, and develop greater self-discipline and conservation in the use of food, money, and all natural resources. With Mercury in sextile to Mars we can expect opportunity to express ourselves practically and positively. SGR X-4 is in square aspect to the largest Black Hole in our universe, The Super Galactic Center (Virgo A), further expanding on the Libra chart ascendant.
Millions of times larger than our Sun, Virgo A, located at 1o Libra 05, conjuncts Ceres and creates tension to refine our approach to relationship with moderation and self awareness. Prerequisite to healthy relationships is our relationship with ourselves. Thus, this Black Hole aspect implies that by choosing to ignore needed time alone or engaging in addictive co-dependant patterns we may create surprising disruptions and/or exhaustion in our associations.
Venus enters the Millennium at 0o Sagittarius 57 closely conjuncting the two Archer Black Holes, CIRCINUS X-1 and HERCULES X-1. Circinus refers to the need to live according to our personal truth. It emphasizes the necessity to align our actions with our beliefs. Live your truth! Things naturally flow better for us this way. Located in the 2nd House, this is a romantic and idealistic (Sag) Venus. With her semi-sextile to Mercury in Capricorn we’ll be working toward refinement in our communications and interactions. We’ll also be making some trade-offs concerning our highest ideals or spiritual values versus our ambitions and thoughts about what recognition and status mean to us.
The second Sag Black Hole, Hercules, highlights the need to contact our inspirational guidance. This requires an opening or receptivity to the cosmic influx of inspiration. An overall 35 day cycle contains 10-11 days of this influx. The remaining 25 days are for for implementation of this received data. Work to get in touch with this natural process. Move with obvious creative urges you feel during this time. We can then become creative vessels for the transmutation of Divine or Cosmic Consciousness!
Much change in the next thousand years will come about in the area of spiritual/ religious philosophy and education as emphasized by the Part of Fortune conjunct fiery Pluto falling on its own 3rd/ 9th House axis and in square aspect to the ascendant of the chart. Schools will transform and our ideas will change dramatically about education, spirituality, and our concept of success. We’ll find ourselves on a necessary journey, questing, searching for new ideas. We’ll likely be re-thinking and cleansing the early childhood programming that our 3rd House implies. More and more, we’ll begin to think for ourselves and trust intuition over intellect, faith over familiar. What we think, we create. We’ll be learning to monitor our thoughts, uplifting and positively “thinking” our future. This is a real turning point in our evolution, a time to go inward, to heal ourselves so that we may flourish while inspiring others.
Moving into 2000 fundamental is the number 2, number of peace, balance, partnership and cooperation. If we are alert, we’ll see that more compromise and partnership are asked of us as we enter this monumental era in history. Energy will have shifted. Things will indeed feel and be different.
Tips for the Two Thousands:
• Learn the meaning of service and how to listen; most communication is actually telepathic anyway.
• Create a simple Mantra and meditate just 10 minutes daily to allow a space to receive new guidance.
• Be friendly to strangers and faithful to your friends. Many will be re-examining their life-paths and/or experiencing spiritual initiations. We’ll need to support each other.
• Purge negative thought forms and self-talk which disempower and deprive us of our dreams.
• Start eliminating sugar from our diets. For many, sugar keeps us emotionally off-balance and builds craving and addiction. This includes fruits, rice, potato and the whole grain cereals many maintain are healthy.
• Release social conditioning which characterizes artists as “special” people with special talent. We are falsely taught art is a” unique gift.” It typically requires dedication and perseverance just as everything else. Experiment with different media. Believe and play. Everyone can develop creatively. Until we have the courage to do so, there is an unspoken longing that just doesn’t go away.
The words of legendary dancer, Martha Graham, are as relevant as ever: “There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.”
With Uranus in the 5th House, the years ahead present monumental opportunities for creative breakthroughs, for innovative group healing and transformation. Uranus, located exactly conjunct the 27 degree Aquarian Black Hole, CYGNUS X-3, implies extraordinary, unique creative ability and the imperative need to expand, experiment and move forward in pursuit of personal talents. Amazingly, this Uranus Black Hole point sextiles Jupiter, which in turn conjuncts a whopping 3 Aries Black Hole locations! These Aries points, located at 24 Aries 06 (M-31), 26 Aries 42 (CASSIOPEIA A), and 26 Aries 56 (M-32) address the need for peacefulness, devotion, self-love and forgiveness. Indeed, we must arrive at some level of peaceful self-acceptance before we can allow our creativity to emerge.
As the electric pace of computers drives us closer to our telepathic potential, we’ll become more in tune with how little we really need them. Strange? Wait and see.
The New Moon on January 6, at 15o Capricorn demands backbone and dedication. With its exact semi-sextile to Uranus, we’ll be struggling between tradition and innovation, the old and the new.
