The Feng Shui Forum:
Disruptive Chi

By Joani Nunez

One of the very best things about being a Feng Shui consultant is the incredible stories you hear as a result of a consultation. When people put their cures and adjustments in place, life changes in the most amazing and powerful ways. I’d like to spend the next few columns sharing with you Feng Shui success stories and the details that brought them into manifestation.

Many people struggle with disruptive neighbor chi. Whether it comes from barking dogs, loud music, or heavy footsteps in the apartment above, it can cause loss of sleep, peace of mind, and overall malaise. As you’ll see in the following stories, the distress caused by these neighbors was extreme, and the cure was simple, inexpensive, and very effective.

A client of mine had new neighbors move into the duplex next door. Within days, it became apparent that these new neighbors were going to be a big problem. They left their shoes on and stomped through the house on the hardwood floors. They set up their stereo against the shared wall of the duplex. The sound and vibration from their stereo speakers made it seem as if the sound system was set up in my client’s apartment rather than in theirs. In keeping with the old joke "good music is music that you like – bad music is music that you dislike," this was REALLY BAD MUSIC! And to make matters even worse, they were night people and my client was accustomed to retiring early and rising long before the sun rose in order to meditate.

After gentle attempts to engage the new neighbors in conversation and to request consideration were rebuffed, I advised her to purchase some inexpensive mirrors that she could place on the back of furniture placed against the shared duplex wall, facing the new neighbors. These mirrors would simply return the neighbor’s own energy to them, rather than allow it permeate her space. She was not creating karma by wishing them ill, she was simply returning to them what was theirs to begin with.

I also suggested that she write a prayer on red paper requesting help with this problem, and place it in the Benefactor’s / Helpful People / NW corner of her apartment. She immediately made these adjustments, and felt a shift take place. And, most importantly, things immediately quieted down.

Several days later she noticed her landlord putting up the "For Rent" sign in the yard again. Seems that the people had left hastily without informing anyone that they were going to move. The landlord came over one day to fix something in the yard and discovered that the apartment was empty! They left their deposit, they left the apartment in immaculate condition, and they left no forwarding address. She left her cures in place, and the next people that leased the other side of the duplex turned out to be the world’s most perfect neighbors.

And so, until next month, I wish you many blessings and great happiness. Please feel free to fax me at 713-861-9243, e-mail me at joani@wt.net, or call me at 713-861-0903 with your questions, feedback, or personal experience. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
