The path in Internet includes several levels of communication that must work together to provide you with access. In the physical plane, a computer and fax modem, and a service provider is needed. On a more mental plane, software to access the web is also needed and must be in place for Internet to work. The correlation here is that, in order to meditate, or access right brain, you must also have access on the physical plane (through relaxation) and mental plane (to quieting the mind of the daily thoughts that chatter away). Once right brain is accessed, it is like reaching data that is available in a huge library, with your own mind being a branch library that has access to a much larger library of consciousness. Learning to access this data is actually relearning tools you were born with, but overwrote and "forgot" with so much left brain training in school and the world.
So, now you are out on The Web. What now? The first question is what are you looking for? The web, just like the right brain access to the libraries of the universe, is just sitting there waiting for you if you know what you are looking for.
Once you have in mind what you want information about, you can access any of the browsers such as Netscape or Microsoft Internet, and choose a search engine such as Webcrawler, Excite, Lycos, or Infoseek by clicking on the "Search" button. Once you have the search engine up, type in a key word about what you would like information on. Likewise, in meditation, you may go in with a key word or idea to meditate on, very similar to getting information from the Internet.
As I said in my column last month on the White Spider, the Spider is Spirit, who is ever present on the web. If we are looking for spiritual guidance, this information may be found as quickly as any other subject. Spirit has put the web out there so that we may learn about the spirituality of our brothers and sisters around the world.
Since my article was on "meditation", I decided to use the web to get some information about it. I found first a wonderful site with complete instructions on "how to meditate", at: http://www.alternativemedicine.com. From http://www.meditate.org/ the following quote says it all: "Meditation is not anything of the mind, it is something beyond the mind. And the first step is to be playful about it. If you are playful about it mind cannot destroy your meditation."
Being playful and full of joy is your best approach
to the web. Discover what the Spirit of the Web (the White Spider) has in store for each
of us on the web, which is as close as any public library.
